Day 12: House of Sucky A/C

So Lea calls me at work today. Sherry & Bill stopped by the house to pick up their tools 'n stuff, and they noticed a puddle of water around the a/c unit in the basement.



Turns out the drain pipe was gunked up and backed up. To make it even more fun, the pipe is sealed with some sort of glue, so it's impossible to pull it off and clean it out. There was an outlet for a second pipe, so Lea ran and got a length of PVC and some elbows, and we added the second drain pipe you see in the picture. We ran bleach down the clean-out of the original pipe, but we're still going to have to have someone come out and clean out the whole system.

After we got that under control, we applied the 'drag' finish to the bottom part of the guest bedroom. Guest room complete!
